USCGC Stratton (WMSL-752) Visits Singapore May 2023

On May 19th, 2023, the Navy League got a tour of USCGC Stratton (WMSL-752), the third Legend-class cutter of the United States Coast Guard. It is the first “white hull” cutter named after a woman since the 1980s (USCGC Harriet Lane was launched in 1984). Stratton is named for Coast Guard Captain Dorothy C. Stratton (1899–2006) who served as director of the SPARS, the Coast Guard Women’s Reserve during World War II. The tour included included the engine compartment, mess hall and the bridge. Easter 2023 US Navy Care Packages

The Singapore Council of the Navy League of the United States created Easter care packages for US Navy sailors traveling through Singapore. Events Director Melanie Rockstad (right) presents board games, chocolates and bags of Easter surprises to US Navy personnel who find themselves half a world away from family and friends during the holiday. Extended operations away from home port can last up to 6 to 9 months. USCG Stratton Around Town in Singapore 2023

The crew and captain of the USCG Stratton got to enjoy some time off the ship, seeing Singapore and enjoying local hospitality and the island’s unique and renown hawker cuisine. We partner with the American Association of Singapore to connect families in Singapore with visiting men and women from the sea services and arrange fun activities.
