Navy Ball 2020

On October 17 2020, the U.S. Navy League Singapore Council celebrated the 245th birthday of the U.S. Navy. Originally established during the Revolutionary War in 1775, the Navy has played a central role throughout history and today, it continues its mission of maintaining the freedom of the seas.

The committees in the Singapore Council was so determined to keep the tradition going, even a worldwide pandemic could not sideline the celebration of the Navy birthday. While we cannot be together in-person, the celebration needs to continue. The council wanted to provide members with the best virtual experience and the idea to provide participants with a celebration kit was born in one of the brainstorming sessions.

We were honored to have so many you join us tonight as we continued to celebrate our brothers and sisters of the Sea Power. As Chargé d’Affaires Rafik Mansour noted in his opening remarks during the virtual celebration, “The United States Navy will not let this pandemic interrupt the core mission of demonstrating our enduring will.”

The council is grateful for the support of our generous sponsors, members, community partners, and affiliates.
